What is extended warranty?
When you purchase an eligible product from us, sometimes the manufacturer includes their own warranty on purchase. This can range from anywhere between 1 year to 5+ years.
Sometimes customers want to extend that warranty, and we are able to provide that service on selected products for an additional cost. Learn more about how it works on this page.
How do I get extended warranty?
Your guarantee can be extended by a further 2 years upon checkout of applicable products (such as canister filters and tanks). This is FREE and automatically included in your order when you purchase an eligible item. The value of the warranty is $25, the cost to you of which is waivered.
If you do not see an extended warranty option, that product is not eligible for extended warranty.
The benefits given to the purchaser by the manufacturers guarantee are in addition to all other rights and remedies which the purchaser has in respect of the equipment under the legislation of the appropriate country of purchase.
What products are eligible?
Most canister filters, tanks and light units are eligible for extended warranty, up to 2 years. The extended warranty will be automatically added to your cart for free when you add an eligible product to your cart.
Extended warranty must be made at time of purchase. If you have already purchased an eligible product and want to add extended warranty, contact us within 14 days.
Guarantee does not cover:
Consumables, such as impellers, shafts, filter cartridges, filter media, sponges, wool, light tubes, lamps, bulbs, glass sleeves or starters.
Equipment failures caused by misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, accidental breakage, repairs or modification by unauthorised persons, mains voltage fluctuation, vermin infestation or liquid spillage.
Cost of freight, postage or the cost of insurance.
This guarantee does not offer refunds. Faulty products will instead be replaced. It is recommended that all equipment subject to claim should be prepared for transportation in its original packaging or other suitable packaging which offers the same degree of protection.
Claims procedure
What do you do if your product breaks down?
First, check that the item is plugged in or requires batteries. Use the provided instruction manual for additional help. If your problems persist, follow the steps below to make a claim under your new extended warranty plan:
- Email us at customerservice@ aquarium spareparts.com.au with your order details and a description of the issue. Include images if possible.
- Send us the faulty product back for inspection to ensure that it falls under warranty guidelines. Shipping is paid for by the customer.
- We will endeavour to have a replacement shipped to you within 7-10 days* depending on availability of stock.
